Design Force, Inc. proudly announces that the consultancy’s President, Ted Mininni, was invited by the editors of FRAME Magazine in The Netherlands to contribute an article on the use of color in package design for a new book late last year. Mr. Mininni’s considerable body of expert articles on numerous packaging topics prompted the editors of the book to extend this invitation to him. ![]() In his article, entitled: Shelf Shouting, which appears in the “Buy/Sell” section of the book, Mr. Mininni discusses how color works in tandem with numerous package elements to prompt consumer purchases, illustrating his points with well-executed examples. He also discusses the role packaging plays in establishing brand loyalty. The book: Colour Hunting: How Colour Influences What We Buy, Make and Feel will be published in Europe, Canada and the United States. It is geared to the needs of a professional audience of fashion, interior and product designers, architects, artists and design students. Besides numerous articles contributed by color experts in three areas: aesthetics, commercial uses and psychology, the editors plan on provide in-depth case studies that embody each aspect. Mr. Mininni: “I’m honored to have been asked to contribute to this book. It’s truly important to me to give back to the design community. If I can provide insights to help students and designers in numerous fields with the insights I’ve gleaned over the years, it’s terrific. I can't wait to see the book in print, and to read the articles contributed by my peers in the design business as well as color experts in various fields.” Colour Hunting will be going on sale internationally this month. It is geared to design professionals in the fashion, architecture, interior design, graphic and industrial design communities as well as lovers of design around the globe.
