Design Force, Inc. proudly announces that the design consultancy was engaged by Hasbro Entertainment & Licensing to develop the style guide to support the licensing program for the BATTLESHIP movie, which debuted last month.

The consultancy’s president, Ted Mininni, stated: “Design Force is well-known for our extensive work in the toy and entertainment industries. Hasbro’s choice to engage our team with this project was deeply rooted in our success with the style guides for the last two Transformers movies (Revenge of the Fallen and Dark of the Moon) and G.I. JOE: The Rise of Cobra. The BATTLESHIP movie style guide was simply a perfect fit for us.”

The BATTLESHIP project encompassed three phases: pre-design research, design assets development and style guide development. Design Force’s approach was to contrast classic U.S. Navy design motifs with hi-tech alien imagery established for the film to create a unique, ownable aesthetic for the licensing program. U.S. Navy imagery includes the U.S.S. Missouri warship, stars, crests as well as battleship steel, rivets and rust to add richness and texture.

All of the design assets were compiled into a comprehensive style guide for Hasbro’s licensee partners to leverage in the development of movie-related consumer product programs across a wide spectrum of categories.
