Marketers recognize that they must communicate to diverse ethnic groups within their respective cultural framework. And they realize that choosing not to address the new demographic mix in this country with a multicultural marketing strategy run the risk of significant revenue loss, consumer defection and irrelevancy. All of this leads directly to serious damage to the brand and loss of equity.

It takes commitment, significant research, the allocation of resources and testing to uncover the drivers for each ethnic group, because each is a unique demographic with marked lifestyle and cultural differences. It takes time and patience to understand major as well as subtle cultural differences in the planning stages before launching any marketing initiatives.
